GENERAL PURPOSE


You will be at the heart of our FDO operations and FDO strategic planning.  You will be empowered to deliver on our mission to provide a leading student experience. You will be responsible for leading, and managing FDO team across Braamfontein and Pretoria as well as managing key stakeholder relationships which include Universities, local authorities and various security services.

As the FDO Manager you will be expected to plan, coordinate, direct and provide general oversight of all FDO operations, strategic planning and development of the organization to optimize performance, productivity, efficiency to ensure the provision of high quality FDO services that will result in maximum FDO services and the delivery of secure and safe accommodation in Braamfontein and Pretoria.

Most importantly, you will be the key custodian of the security and its operations to ensure ongoing security and enhancement in all the relevant buildings and the surrounding areas.


RESPOSIBILITIES


  • Oversee appointments and management of supervisor
  • Propose operational and management changes
  • Frequently check of portfolio and buildings under your control i.t.o
  • Staff on duty
  • Dress code and operational procedure compliance
  • Biometric  and turnstile functional
  • Ensure the daily submitting the Biometric /Turnstile report
  • CCTV system operational
  • Walking the building to pro-actively manage safety and security elements
  • Ensure that  incident reports are generated 24 to 36 hours following an incident and the investigation having been concluded (either self or with the support of your colleague)
  • Having involvement of the  management of  the FDO relief staff system/process
  • Setting and place and managing the FDO development programme
  • To bring to the roll and the portfolio new and innovative ideas which will enhance the safety offering afforded our customer
  • Submit bi-monthly reports to the  line manager
  • Managing staff disciplinary matters via the HR department together with the relevant regions and the Regional Operations Manager and the Facilities Managers
  • Regular meetings and interface with the HR Department
  • Complete FDO  inspections in the buildings to check if all is in order as and when required
  • Recommend enhanced security projects to top management as and when required
  • Monitor and manage FDO services budget and special security projects
  • Manage FDO managers and come up with training and development plans including KPI’s.
  • Manage FDO human capital including FDO forecasting and come up with recommendations.
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance FDO security services.

  • Sector policing
  • BID’s and CIDS
  • Community Police Forum
  • Institutional (university) security services
  • Manager FDO operations in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth (Gqxeberha)
  • Monitor and implement emergency plan procedures and amend as and when required
  • Assist in the identification of risk areas and plan to mitigate same by utilising (optimising) on stakeholder relationships
  • Deliver any ad hoc reports as requested by top management.


EDUCATION


  • Matric
  • Diploma /Certificate in Operational Management
  • Management programme
  • Exposure to or experience in security services


EXPERIENCE


  • 5 years’ experience or more in the Security Industry
  • Proficient in full Microsoft suite
  • Excel intermediate to advance
