GENERAL PURPOSE
To ensure that the plumbing requirements of all South Point Buildings are met as set and defined by the South Point standard.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transport equipment/material/personnel to and from specific locations.
- Repair leaking pipes and unblock sewer lines;
- Unblock toilets and basins;
- Need to cost the material required to execute a job
- Needs to have an understanding of what parts/material are required to execute the job at hand;
- Installation of bath, basin, toilet, urinal and geyser;
- Changing of tap washers;
- Will need to care for the tools issued to him/her
- Including power tools issued on sign out;
- Reporting any faulty equipment or hazards in the work place;
- Minimizing wastage of material;
- Accurate completion of all job cards within the expected turnaround time;
- He/she will be required to work overtime in case of emergencies;
- Will do week-end duty by rotation;
- Will need to work the extended hours between November-February to prepare vacate and new academic intake;
- Will be required to complete work to the South Point standard;
- Any ad hoc tasks and responsibilities assigned to him/her by management.
EDUCATION
- Matric
- Trade Test Certificate
EXPERIENCE
- 2 to 3 years of Plumbing experience
- Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques
- Knowledge of plumbing codes Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
- Ability to use hand and power tools
