GENERAL PURPOSE


The National IT Manager is responsible for enabling business efficiency by implementing, stabilising, optimising and continuously improving the organisation’s IT infrastructure and related processes, technology and architecture. The incumbent manages an internal team and external suppliers, drives projects and plays a key role in capacity management, information security management and IT service continuity management. This position is responsible for IT Governance, co-creating the IT strategy and driving digital transformation across the organisation.

Oversight of IT operations

Availability Management

  • Oversee Availability Measures.
  • Oversee Availability Monitoring.
  • Oversee Service Availability.


Capacity Management

  • Oversee Capacity Adjustments.
  • Oversee Capacity Reserves.


Business Relationship Management

  • Oversee and Manage Customer Satisfaction per Service.


Incident Management

  • Oversee and Manage Incident Occurrence.

 

Problem Management

  • Oversee and manage Problems as they arise.



Definition of CSI Initiatives

  • Oversee and Manage CSI initiatives.


IT Governance

  • Define and implement governance frameworks for the department
  • Define, implement, monitor and audit standards, policies and procedures for the effective management of IT governance
  • Ensure that the required IT control and governance practices are established and implemented in order that IT goals deliver value and           mitigate risks such than they support the business needs of the organisation.


Build and maintain an appropriately motivated skilled team

  • Build a sustainable team capability
  • Mentor and Coach team members.
  • Plan, monitor, and appraise job results.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment.



Contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes, technology and architecture.

  • Utilise problem solving skills & techniques to drive the resolution of issues.
  • Use strong analytical skills to provide input into the design of solutions and problem solving.
  • Formulate application recovery plans including DR (Disaster Recovery) plans that are in alignment with Business Continuity Plans (BCP).
  • Maintain a 3-year Technology and Business Roadmap.

EDUCATION


  • 3 years Degree or Diploma in Business Information System or equivalent
  • Axelos ITIL
  • Axelos Princell
  • ISACA COBIT19
  • ISACA CISM

  • IT Management 3 years’ experience
  • Database 2 years
  • Project Management 2 years
  • Financial Management 2 years
  • Strategic Planning 2 years
  • IT Governance 2 years
