Student Life Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE

Incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the national student life calendar and delegate where required to ensure that we are able to execute this successfully across all the regions.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Student Life Strategy

  • Using the student life strategy as guide, develop and execute the agreed plan and budgets on student life.
  • Ensure the development of event proposals for all events, and the proper review on event execution (post-mortem)
  • All other ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management that relates to events.
  • Relationship management with the relevant Universities, as it relates to the execution of student life.

People and Leadership 

  • Ensure that there is an alignment on team performance against the agreed plan (KPI driven)
  • Create cohesive and productive "Team Culture"
  • Regular catch up with the Student life team, Ras and House Committee and giving guidance and feedback on performance.

Events Management

  • Project Manage the Student Life Strategy and implementation in all the regions
  • RA Programme - Present and implement plan agreed with Marketing & Sales Executive (Strategy, Calendar, Plans, Reporting & Budgets)                           
  • Student Life Events - Present and implement plan agreed with Marketing & Sales Executive (Strategy, Calendar, Plans & Budgets)                           
  • Student Life Programme needs to speak to Social, Academic, Student Development and support
  • Post each event, Post Mortem is concluded to review performance of each event
  • Measure effectiveness of our programme
  • Ensure maximum participation from our students          
              
Budgeting and Cost Control 

  • Establish a robust supplier database that will be used as basis for events organizing across all regions.
  • Monthly reporting on the student life budgets
  • Ensure that all student life events are executed within Budgets

EDUCATION

  • Matric
  • Bachelor's degree in appropriate field

EXPERIENCE

  • 2 to 3 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and a commitment to: the community college mission and purpose; teaching and learning; high academic standards; and, student success;
  • Knowledge and experience using integrated software systems and Microsoft applications (with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint presentation);
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail;
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends as needed;
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and the general public;
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with students, employees and the public;
  • Skill in facilitating and modelling a quality customer service orientation;
  • Ability to efficiently multi-task and conduct/complete independent work assignments
