GENERAL PURPOSE
We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our esteemed organization’s IT department. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide exceptional customer service while responding to phone, e-mail, and online requests for technical support
- Represent the customer to ensure serviceability and product quality issues are being tracked, prioritized, resolved.
- Assisting customers in the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Southpoint systems and equipment
- Assisting in the tracking and monitoring of all support cases to ensure timely resolution and follow-up
- Assisting in the identification, documenting, and finding of solutions for customer issues and product problems
- Escalating critical customer situations to the appropriate level of management
EDUCATION
- Matric
- IT qualification
- Internationally accredited IT-related certifications (an added advantage)
EXPERIENCE
- Good level of ICT proficiency, particularly with Windows 7/10, Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with networking, telephony, tele/video conferencing, smartphone, hardware, and software and mobile phone service technologies
- Knowledge on general computer repairs and hardware and software troubleshooting would be desirable
- Basic understanding of IP networking a plus
